Effect of Globalization on Small Businesses

    Posted on April 21st, 2011

In today’s era of globalization, small and medium sized businesses have been credited with significantly helping the economy. SME’s have contributed to over 50% of the GDP and provided over 60% of the total employment in so-called developed, high income countries. As a result, world events have taken their toll on small and medium sized enterprises.

Small businesses were the hardest hit, by events like rising oil prices as well as sharp rise in price of gas, following unrest in countries like Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the carabiner gate could open under a heavy load.

The carabiners, clips meant to secure climbing ropes, were imported from China and sold nationwide from February 2011 through March 2011 for between $8 and $12.

The recall involves Photon carabiners and Photon and March Express quickdraws, which are used as extenders to anchor a climber, the commission said.

The carabiners were sold in a variety of colors. The quickdraws include a white or black fabric strap with green, yellow or gray stitching.

Consumers were advised to stop using these products and contact CAMP USA to return them for a full refund.

TEMPE, AZ–(E&E Exhibit Solutions April 13, 2011) – No matter the current economic climate, smart trade show and event marketers continually look for ways to reduce costs and improve return on investment. However, the cost of custom displays can quickly escalate beyond your budget. This year, consider custom trade show booth rentals and save about 60 percent on your display budget.
