SEED a New Form of Funding to Help Small Businesses Grow
Posted on June 28th, 2011
The president’s call for creating new jobs is responded with a public private partnership in the capital region. The goal is to help people find funds to realize their dream of establishing a great business. This form of funding is called SEED (Small Enterprise Economic Development). It is a public–private partnership taking into account University at Albany, SEFCU and the Empire State Development Corporation.
SEED’s idea is to connect people with concepts and those who can provide them cash and proper training so as to make their business ideas work. The program is going to begin with a $2.5 million revolving ‘microloan’ fund that is based on character and not any collateral.
The SEED program is going to be effective for businesses as it is believed that entrepreneurs can make money from it and the program can become a catalyst to grow jobs.
